Trex is the leading name in composite decking. I love the stuff. There’s nothing better. But how much does Trex decking cost? I wanted to provide the latest on what it’s costing in 2025.

How much does Trex decking cost in Long Island, New York

Composite decking is a favorite among homeowners. It’s my go-to. It’s sleek. Its durability is unmatched. Trex has five decking lines: Signature is the top tier, then it moves to Transcend Lineage, Transcend, Select, and finally Enhance. All of the Trex lines are high quality.

Let’s start at the top, take a quick look at each line, and run through a rough estimate of some costs you could expect from some of these lines. Keep in mind these are costs for the Trex materials only and don’t include labor costs. Plus, these are rough estimates.

Trex Signature Decking

What can I say about Trex’s Signature line? A 50-year warranty and the best composite decking material out there. Period. It’s high-priced, though. It’s not a necessity, but it sure is nice to have.

The material has been engineered to simulate the warmth of interior hardwoods and delivers a luxurious look while providing the strength needed for outdoor use. The high-quality composite decking comes in two colors: Ocracoke, a dark brown with a classy feel, and Whidbey, a nice grey that looks especially nice on many homes in Long Island.

Trex Signature is made with a unique formula that gives it the ultimate wood-like look but with longevity that other lines just can’t match. I love Trex for many reasons. Safety is off the charts with it. The Signature line is specially engineered to help prevent slipping, scratches, stains, and even mold.

Expect to spend four grand on materials for a small 12 by 12-deck without railings or add-ons. Most projects involving the Signature line run into the tens of thousands and involve Trex’s add-ons and railings.

It’s expensive, but the deck will last more than 50 years.

Trex Transcend Lineage

Trex Transcend Lineage is a top-quality composite decking line that offers a high-end look and function. This line is made to look just like wood, and it comes in various natural colors, such as Biscayne, Rainier, Carmel, and Jasper, with subtle streaking and soft shades.

What makes Transcend Lineage so special is the heat-mitigation technology, which helps it absorb the sun while keeping the deck’s surface cool. Beyond its style, Transcend Lineage has been engineered to last. Its boards are stain-, scratch- and mold-resistant, so they don’t rot, warp, crack or splinter like real wood. You never have to sand, stain, or paint the material, and if you do have a spill, just wash it with soap and water.

Like the Signature line, the Transcend Lineage has a 50-year limited residential warranty. You could save up to $1,000 off the price of the Signature line for a 12-by-12 deck.

Trex Transcend

Transcend decking is next up. With a dark wood grain and many color palettes, which range from traditional earth tones to tropical hues, there is something for homeowners of all styles to choose from.

Trex Transcend boards come in grooved and square-edge profiles and are also available in hidden fasteners for a finished appearance or standard deck screws. The boards themselves are 1′′ thick and 5.5′′ wide, and they are available in 12 to 20 feet of length to suit different design needs.

There’s not much difference in the Transcend and the Transcend Lineage line pricing. You can expect to cut off a couple of hundreds of dollars.

Trex Transcend is also covered by a 50-year limited residential warranty, so homeowners can rest easy knowing their investment is protected for a long time.

Trex Select

Trex Select is a budget-friendly, high-quality composite decking. It’s durable and low maintenance. You won’t ever have to deal with splinters. It’s strong like all other Trex lines: it’s made to resist fading and mildew.

Colors such as Pebble Grey and Saddle go well with different styles of homes. The boards are 95 percent recycled. They are available in grooved-edge profiles for hidden fasteners and square-edge profiles for conventional installation with design freedom.

A 35-year limited residential warranty covers Trex Select decking so that homeowners can be confident in their purchase.

Trex Enhance

The Trex Enhance is split into two options — Enhance Basics and Enhance Naturals. It’s Trex’s baseline. But don’t let that discourage you. Everything Trex creates is high quality. The Enhance line is no exception.

It’s an all-purpose composite decking collection that’s affordable and tough. Here are some of its key features:

Lightweight Profile: The scalloped surface of Enhance boards lightens the material weight for easy transport and assembly, making them a great product for DIY and contractors.

Functional Beauty: Enhance Naturals is similar to the look of actual wood, with multi-tone shades such as Coastal Bluff and Rocky Harbor. Enhance Basics also comes in solids for a more mature wood luck.

Durability: Enhance Basics and Naturals are designed not to fade, stain, or mold so that they will last for decades without serious wear from UV rays or spills. This long life makes Enhance an ideal solution for homeowners who want to keep their decks in good condition.

Warranty: With a 25-year limited residential warranty, Trex Enhance will make sure homeowners can count on the decking to be beautiful and strong for decades.

Trex Enhance decking is available in grooved-edge profiles for hidden fastener installation for seamless results and square-edge profiles for classic installation. This adaptability is convenient for custom-designed and applied according to any project requirements.

Taking it all together, Trex Enhance® is a budget-friendly, hard-wearing, and beautiful decking alternative that blends the beauty of wood with the low-maintenance advantages of composite materials while remaining environmentally responsible.

How to Use the Trex Deck Calculator

If you’re wondering how much Trex Decking will cost in 2025, the Trex’s Deck Calculator is a handy tool to help calculate how much decking material you will require. The process is simple:

  1. Go to the Trex Deck Cost Calculator. This is a free tool on their website.
  2. Pick your project category to start. We can add a deck, or redeck an existing deck, or replace it.
  3. Input your deck’s general dimensions. Include the length and width to get the square footage as close as you can to your deck’s actual dimensions.
  4. Choose the Trex line you’re curious about using.
  5. If your deck will require railings, write down how many you will need and what type of railing you’d like.

The calculator estimates your price and gives you a ballpark on what to expect.
